ADKAR is a Change Management methodology developed by Prosci, focusing on the people side of change.

ADKAR is an acronym:

  • Awareness of the need for change
  • Desire to support the change
  • Knowledge of how to change
  • Ability to demonstrate new skills and behaviours
  • Reinforcement to make the change stick

This model looks to engage people delivering and impacted by change, increasing the likelihood of successful implementation and embedding of the project.

The effectiveness of this model lies in the correlation between the organisation and the individuals within the organisation’s needs and how they can both be met within the delivery of the project, improving the experience for all.

Through continued communication, conflict resolution, training and problem-solving , the ADKAR model of change management builds engagement from the ground, developing a common purpose for all individuals within the organisation.
