Agile was developed as an alternative to traditional project and change management methodologies.

Projects are broken down into small chunks with repeated steps, enabling issues to be quickly identified and resolved with minimal impact to the wider project.

This approach enables a project to adapt quickly to change and respond to issues encountered in an effective manner. It is also easier to adapt the requirements using this approach rather than the more traditional project management methodologies.

Agile is most commonly used with ICT and similarly technically driven projects, with Scrum as the most popular method adopted within the Agile approach.
